Epson Stylus SX400

The Epson SX400 is an impressive looking machine but as with all multifunctional printers the truth is in its performance. The SX400 offer some new features not seen before in Epson multifunction printers, one of which  is a built in LCD screen which enables previewing of photos from a memory card or digital camera before printing directly without the need for a PC. The photo copier is another feature that works without the need for a computer and it produces good quality copies at a reasonably good speed. The printing speed of the SX400 becomes more of an issue when you increase the quality setting and this comes into play when your printing photos which take a very long time to print and don’t get anywhere near the times quoted on the official spec sheet. Fortunately for the SX400 its print quality is worth the wait, it class leading 5760dpi x 1440dpi print resolution produces surprisingly good results for all types of documents including photo prints. The scanner also offers an impressive 1200dpi which results in pink sharp scans of all kinds of documents from basic drawings to high resolution graphics and photos. Running costs for the SX400 in terms of the cost of it printer ink cartridges depending on what brand of cartridges you buy. Genuine Epson SX400 ink cartridges cost around £30 for a full set of four Epson inks, while a set of compatibles which yield the same amount of pages cost just £15. In terms of performance the SX400 is impressive and it’s possible to be good value as well.
